Sabudana Tokri Chaat is a unique chaat recipe. Unlike traditional chaat, it is shaped like a basket (tokri), giving it a unique presentation. Tokri is prepared from a mixture of sago, potatoes and spices. Then it is filled with spiced potatoes and curd and chutney is added on top. The result is a scrumptious chaat that will leave you craving for more.
Is Sabudana Tokri Chaat healthy?
It depends on how you cook Sabudana Tokri Chaat. In this recipe, the bowl is deep fried before being filled with the potato mixture. However, you can also air-fry it, which reduces the calorie count significantly. Additionally, you can reduce the use of sweet chutney in the chaat to make it healthier.
How to make Sabudana Tokri Chaat for Navratri fast. Sabudana Tokri Chaat Recipe
To make Sabudana Tokri Chaat, first of all add soaked sago, boiled potatoes, chopped coriander, green chillies, crushed peanut powder, water chestnut flour, cumin and salt in a big bowl. Mix well and set aside. For the filling, heat oil in a pan and add boiled potatoes, cumin powder, red chili powder and salt. Now, take a small portion of the sago-potato mixture and place it over an inverted bowl, ensuring that it is covered from all sides. Straighten it out and deep fry the mixture along with the bowl until it becomes golden brown and crisp. Once down, gently remove the bowl and fill it with the potato filling. Top with fresh curd, fasting-friendly mint chutney and tamarind chutney. Garnish with pomegranate and bhujia and enjoy!
