To compete in their villages, Tantino, an autonomous province in Northern Italy made an attractive offer: transferred to its surprising Alpine region and received a grant of Rs 92 lakh (100,000 Euro) once. Out of this, 74 lakhs (80,000 euros) are placed for the reconstruction of property, while 18.5 lakhs (20,000 Euro) will go to the cost of purchase of assets worth Rs.
While this idea seems amazing on paper, there is a grip.
Only the residents of Italy or living abroad are eligible for the proposal and even they have to stay in the area for 10 years or the property will have to rent from that length. As a result of failure to do this, according to a report, the grant will have to be paid CNN,
33 cities are being considered on the verge of extinction for this project, which is ready to get final approval in the coming weeks.
“The goal is to revive local communities and promote regional harmony,” Trento President Maurizio Fugti said.
This is not the first example that an Italian city has offered people to give money to come and live there. Last week, a city named Pene, located in the central region Abruzo of Italy, announced that it was selling abandoned homes for less than a euro or less than a dollar.
Payne Mayor Gilberto Petruchi said, “The city has more than 40 empty buildings in search of new owners, and they are all located in the historical center, which have been declining since decades ago.”

Italy’s demographic challenge
Italy is facing a serious demographic decline, perhaps the most serious in Europe. The scope rating has predicted that the European nation may see a decrease of about 19 percent in its working age population by 2040, which is more than a fall in countries such as Germany (14 percent) and France (two percent).
According to a report by the National Statistics Bureau ISTAT, in 2024 there were more than 22,000 Italians in the age group of 100 and 104, which was more than 17,000 in 2014.
The gradual aging of the population is causing problems for Italy, where the birth rate is the lowest in Europe, there is huge impact on public accounts due to heavy spending on pension and health care.
