Actress Swara Bhaskar has claimed that many in Bollywood stayed away from the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar because they fear consequences for speaking out. Refusing to judge fellow artistes personally, Swara urged people not to depend on celebrities to validate public issues.

Doctors have warned that continued fasting could affect their organs, although they have refused to end the protest without a response from the government.
