The story of Urfi Javed, outspoken and fearless: I want to rule like Shah Rukh | Exclusive
Urfi Javed has risen and is here to stay. She is willing to do anything to become “very very famous”. In an exclusive interview with us, she tells her story, who she is and when she will stop.

What does it take to build an empire from nothing? If you are Urfi Javed, the key is unwavering belief in yourself. The idea is to get up every day, without questioning what you are doing, and just do it with the same consistency. When IndiaToday.in got in touch with Urfi and asked her to share her secrets to becoming infamous, she said her formula is available for all to see and analyse. She also threw down a challenge: “It takes an X-factor to do what I have done. try it out (Try if you want). I would be very happy if anyone tries what I did and succeeds.”
We know her as a social media sensation. But, unlike anyone else. Even the Orris of the world can’t stand up to her. One reason for this is that she is not a typical influencer who does makeup, dances and makes reels or gives tips on staying healthy or beautiful. She found her destiny in just wearing clothes of her choice. She made clothes from waste, from garbage bags, ropes, bandages to packets of chips, pizza slices, chewing gum and glass.
She never needed a decorated stage to showcase these looks. The world was her runway. She would simply walk the streets of Mumbai, covering every nook and corner, while photographers lined up to click her. Some called her quirky, some creative. But, everyone acknowledged her boldness. It always seemed like she wanted the world to call her for her daring personality. Oorfi’s goal was clear – as she told us – to be “very, very famous.”

The art of deceiving people ft. Urfi Javed
What worked for her? She remembers every criticism and every embarrassment she faced. Uorfi says she never gave up because she had dreams to fall back on and she believed in them. “Consistency. I never backed down. People discouraged me a lot. Everyone has always discouraged me, everywhere. Everyone was against me. But, I still did what I did. I am not saying what I did was right or wrong. I did it. No matter what my situation was. Even if I was not mentally well, I still got up and did what I did. Consistency has given me this platform,” she says.
The art of deceiving people is what makes this girl different from others. And she also gets pleasure in doing so. Urfi further says, “I will not say anything as the truth. I will say whatever I want to say. The thing is that you people will never be able to know whether I am lying or telling the truth.”
Uorfi has always been vocal about doing things her way. There is no right or wrong for her. She will do anything to reach the heights of success she sees for herself. And she understands what happens when you become so ambitious. “I am trying to create a world for myself where I am very famous. I create opportunities for myself. Even if there is something controversial in it, I don’t mind. As long as I am not harming anyone,” she quips.

Urfi, she is as real as she wants you to believe!
Her new project on Prime Video, ‘Follow Kar Lo Yaar’, is another step towards achieving the benchmark she has set for herself. When asked if it was scripted, Oorfi, being her honest and forthright personality, said, “I’m so glad you asked me. You think I’ll tell you even if it’s scripted. You’ll never hear it from me. I’m going to tell you ‘Of course, it’s all real’.”
On the show, she admires the looks of Janhvi Kapoor and Nora Fatehi. But, the Urfi we know doesn’t want to look like anyone else? This is where she proves that there is probably nothing we know about her. Urfi is a phenomenon that cannot be defined. She admits to feeling comfortable trying to “fix” herself and change her appearance.
She explains, “It’s not a contradiction. I’ve had fillers and Botox for a very long time. I don’t think it’s wrong to modify my body. I don’t think it’s taboo to have surgery or fix something. If I feel there’s something wrong with my body that needs to be fixed, I’ll go ahead and get it done.”

The girl who dreams of sadness
You may never predict her next move, but she knows it all. She knows when to push the right buttons to excite and titillate you. Uorfi calls herself “extremely independent.” She admits she doesn’t listen to anyone, and she understands that this might be the wrong way to live life, but she doesn’t mind regrets. In fact, Uorfi relishes the feelings of guilt, sadness and anger. “I’ve never felt I was accountable to anyone. I know people care about me. But, I’m too stubborn to understand. I’m my own boss. I’m very, very independent. I don’t like answering to anyone,” she explains.
But wait until you hear this: “I have this process. Honestly, I like to romanticize sadness. I love sadness. There’s a beauty in sadness that it teaches you. It’s not when you’re happy that you learn things. It’s when you’re sad. When the anger subsides and only sadness remains, that’s when you learn things. I don’t care about feelings like guilt, anger, and sadness.”
Even when she is seriously answering your questions, you feel like she is teasing you. She seems to be constantly asking you to believe her and laughs when you actually do. She seems completely immersed in herself, and yet there is a self-deprecating quality about her that you can’t move on from. Urfi makes you question your own judgement between being bold and being silly. And she has learned to be quite adept at that art.

the sky is the limit for him
She says, “It’s okay to not want things and not know things. If you have money and you’re from a well-off family, it’s okay. Of course, when you don’t have money it becomes a little difficult. I have realised that not everyone can be as ambitious as me, which is okay. Not everyone wants success, fame and money. Some people just want to exist. I don’t want to just exist. I want to rule.”
But, will she ever stop? Does she realise that success can be just as complex, instant and internal as failure? She says she won’t stop until she achieves the status that actor Shah Rukh Khan currently enjoys. “Shah Rukh Khan is my benchmark. The day I feel I am the Shah Rukh Khan of the world (I will hang up).”
Urfi, it seems, is a girl too, standing in front of the world, praising Shah Rukh and doing everything that is required to become the “king of the world” and not the “queen”, she says. But, and there is always a ‘but’ when it comes to Urfi, she is not going to stop here. Even if Shah Rukh Khan comes to her and requests her to ‘chill a little’. “As long as Shah Rukh is giving me half of his property and wealth, why not? I would love to retire,” she declares.
If you’re still not ready to give her a pat on the back, she at least deserves your smile and a happy thumbs-up. She may not care, but she’s more of a hustler than anything, and you’ve got to give her that!
