‘The Penguin’: Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti fight for control of Gotham
‘The Batman’ spin-off series, titled ‘The Penguin’, is set to stream on Jio Cinema from September 20. The show will tell the story of Oswald Cobb’s rise to power in Gotham City.

HBO Max has released the trailer for ‘The Penguin’, the much-anticipated spin-off of ‘The Batman’ (2022). The series dives into Gotham City’s dark criminal underworld, focusing on the rise of Oswald Cobb or Oz Cobb, better known as the Penguin, portrayed by Colin Farrell. Reprising his role from ‘The Batman’, Farrell takes center stage in this gritty series that explores his character’s rise to power.
Joining Farrell is Cristin Milioti, who plays Sofia Falcone, the daughter of crime boss Carmine Falcone. She will play a central role in the struggle for supremacy in Gotham’s underworld alongside Rhenzy Feliz.

Development for ‘The Penguin’ began in early September 2021, with Lauren LeFranc attached as writer and Farrell confirmed to return as the title character later that year. Following the success of ‘The Batman’, HBO Max officially ordered the series in March 2022. Matt Reeves, the film’s director, remained closely involved in overseeing the script and assembling the creative team behind the series.
Craig Zobel was brought on to direct the first three episodes, with Helen Shaver also joining the project as director. Fans can expect to delve deeper into the chaotic and violent power struggles that define Gotham, as the Penguin builds his empire in this spin-off.
