Story, cast and new footage
Written and directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Christopher Nolan, the film is based on Homer’s epic story of King Odysseus of Ithaca and his perilous journey home after the fall of Troy. Matt Damon leads the film as Odysseus, with Tom Holland as Telemachus and Anne Hathaway as Penelope.
The cast also includes Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron and Jon Bernthal. Material released around the film identifies Pattinson as Antinous, Zendaya as Athena, and Theron as Circe.
The new trailer for the film focuses on Odysseus and includes a confrontation with the Cyclops. This is juxtaposed with scenes from Ithaca, where Antinous is seen attempting to claim the throne. The trailer debuted during an episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
