The Kerala Story 2 surpasses box office collection: Maintains steady performance on Holi, closes to Rs 20 crore

The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond remained stagnant on Wednesday due to Holi festival. The film made Rs. 3.50 crore in the tally, taking the total to Rs. Earning Rs 18.75 crore at the box office. Hopefully the film will continue to earn well tomorrow also.

Based on current trends, The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond is likely to close in its opening week at Rs. 20 crores or so. That’s a good amount for a movie with no face value, even if there is some IP value in it.

The original film was a blockbuster, earning Rs. Collected Rs 6.75 crore and Rs. Earned Rs 220 crore during his entire tenure. Being a sequel to a big blockbuster, generally big numbers are expected, but that is not the case here. Some films from the region enjoyed major success in early 2020, but have seen a decline since then. For example, The Bengal Files fell below The Kashmir Files. Kashmir Files 2 will also see a big drop from the original, but it will perform well for its cost.

If the film continues to perform like this, it could become Sunny Deol’s second hit film of 2026 after Border 2. Since Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge doesn’t have a release until Eid 2026, The Kerala Story 2 has to do well for about two weeks from here. It will be interesting to see how far the film goes at the box office.
