Walt Disney Animation Studios is set to release Moana 2. The sequel is set to take audiences back to the fascinating world of Motunui with the return of fan-favorite characters Moana and Maui. Following the success of Inside Out 2, anticipation for Moana 2 is increasing as the release date approaches. During a press event at Walt Disney Animation Studios in California, the filmmakers debuted the first 30 minutes of the sequel and teased new adventures for Moana that take place three years after the first film.

Discussing how the sequel to the 2016 blockbuster Moana was initially supposed to be a web series, director David Derrick Jr. said, “The main main characters and the main themes are the themes that we established to tell with the series.
