The beginning of acting, Indian roots, and music composer man on the role in Hindi
Popular Australian singer Gai Sebstian made her acting debut in the film Hindi Windy with Neena Gupta and Mihir Ahuja. In a special chat, he opened about his Indian roots and worked with Gupta.

Gai Sebastian is an Australian singer who woke up for fame after winning the Australian Idol season 1. The artist recently made her acting debut with Hindi Vinidi. Music composer stars in the film with Neena Gupta and Mihir Ahuja. Today in a special chat with India Today Digital, Sabstian talked about his debut and working with Gupta.
Gai Sebstian plays Neena Gupta’s son and Mihir Ahuja’s father ‘Hindi Vinidi’. While he is a famous musician, this is his first step in the acting world. He said that the infection was both exciting and difficult. “I knew I was stepping into some big shoes. I believe in being a musician. But I think this (acting) was a bit of a test for me.”
“I have spent years in front of the camera as a composer, but the acting is different. You have to really have to believe in the character and bring it to life. In a recording studio, I can take 50 if I want. It’s not so. It’s not so. You can’t stop it because you can’t nail it. You have received it to get it quickly. I felt pressure.
Sebastian further said, “I really worked on the role and gave it everything. I was very curious, so I was asking, Neena ji, Mihir, ‘Are I doing well?” You can’t see yourself, so I was really uncertain, but I really liked it.
Apart from acting, Gai Sebastian has also composed music for the film. Asked about how their Indian roots impressed their music and acting career, the singer replied, “Indian culture has always played a big role in my life. I have always praised the technical difficulty in Hindi singers and their crafts. Increasing, I can hear my mother to speak Hindi. I have been allowed to work on this film.”
In his words, his character is a ‘deadbeat’ father who is trying to free himself and connect with his son. Speaking about her Indian connection, Sabstian said, “My mother is from India. She speaks Hindi. I watch Hindi films and learn some Hindi songs, but I cannot speak Hindi, so I can actually be related to (film). Language blockage, but they still express their love for each other.
While the popular musician has seen films like Om Shanti Om, Archies and Wadh, his favorite Anil Kapoor-starrer is the 1985 film Meri Jung. “Growing up, my favorite was my war with Anil Kapoor. He could originally shifted between playing the role of a villain and a hero, and I praised his versatility,” signed by Gai.
Hindi Windy is set to release in theater on 8 March.
