In October 2024, Vijay formally started his political journey by founding the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) at a conference in Vikravandi, Tamil Nadu. The event witnessed an impressive turnout, with over three lakh supporters present. With this move, Vijay is focusing on challenging the Dravidian-dominated political landscape of Tamil Nadu in the 2026 assembly elections.
Thalapathy 69 is bankrolled by KVN Productions. It marks the debut of the production house in Tamil cinema. The film’s story reportedly features Vijay as a ‘torch bearer of democracy’, reflecting his recent political ventures, including the founding of the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) party. The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamita Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani and Prakash Raj.
The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, whose successful collaboration with Vijay has already set high expectations for the soundtrack.
