As many American influencers have started stalking Indians and people of Indian origin in Texas for filming their apparent “misdeeds” targeting the community, videos from outside a famous Indian supermarket in Houston have now gone viral. Nick Plumb, a Texas man who also ran for Congress as a Republican, went to supermarkets for several days in a row and filmed how supermarket executives kept fruits and vegetables out in the open outside the market. Plumb visited to see if his videos had made a difference and on the last day, he met the owner, who nicely informed Nick that she had seen his videos and had boxes of products out because there was a big sale going on.Plumb wrote, “Third world standards straight from the back alleys of India are being demonstrated by Sangam Supermarket in North Houston. Between two sets of dumpsters on hot asphalt they are piling up food safety violations one after another and no one cares.” “This is not negligence, this is just low standards and is exactly how things are done in third world markets. It has no place in American grocery stores.”On the last day of his visit, Nick said he saw the owner come out and they started a conversation which was also posted. The owner tells Nick that he has seen his videos and that he is doing a great job in spreading awareness about food safety. They also said that they did not have space in the warehouse and hence the products were left in the open, but only during the day, not at night. The man also told Nick that he has been in America for 35 years and has been running grocery supermarkets for decades. He said he is aware of the ongoing India-hatred in Texas and said he himself voted for President Trump in the last election and does not support illegal immigration. The man said that if health inspectors came and asked him to dump all the products, he would do so. “I never back down from problems,” the man told Nick Plumb, asking him to come to his store in two days to post an update on social media.
