Tere Ishq Mein box office: Dhanush, Kriti Sanon’s film passes Monday hold test, ready to be a hit

Tere Ishq Mein has successfully passed the Monday hold test and is now on its way to becoming a hit. Based on this morning and matinee shows, the film is heading towards Rs. 6 crore nett plus day. Depending on how well the evening and night shows do, this number can go up to Rs. Can increase up to. 7 crores net or more.

Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s musical love story took a stellar opening weekend earning Rs. 48 crore nett. Given the mixed response, there were concerns about the film not performing well. Although the film did quite well over the weekend, the Monday hold was crucial to put it on the path to becoming a hit, and that’s exactly what happened.

The four-day box office collection of the film was approximately Rs. 55 crores nett. The film looks to be in a good position to cross Rs. 70 crores in the first week, possibly Rs. 75 crore nett. While the second week will see competition from Dhurandhar, Tere Ishq Mein will have enough ground to survive and move towards Rs. 100 crore nett plus the final, which will see it become a hit.

Tere Ishq Mein will be the sixth hit film of the year, or Sanam will be the seventh film counting Teri Kasam (re-release). Four of these seven hits are music-driven films with no faces or star value. These films got the best opening. The importance of music in the Hindi film industry cannot be underestimated. The decline in business in the last decade or so can largely be attributed to the decline in the quality of music. It is fitting that in challenging times, it is music that is providing some respite and giving the industry an opportunity to re-learn and readjust.
