Taylor Swift’s Erasure Tour concerts have made a historic impact on the music industry, becoming one of the biggest international tours of the year and attracting millions of fans and celebrities from around the world. Now as the world-famous tour nears its conclusion on December 8, the pop star has published a retrospective book titled The Eras Tour Book on November 29.
In the book, Swift revealed that she conceived the concept of her “ambitious” tour in 2022 while working on “The Midnights Album” and pitched the “idea” to her team. The Maroon singer could have gone on the Midnights Tour, but revealed that “there’s nothing she hates more than doing what she’s already done.”
The Grammy winner, who “fell in love” with her previous records while re-recording her old catalogue, was inspired to perform it on her show. She wanted to “honor what the fans have done for her” through the tour. After developing the concept, the Look What You Made Me Do singer aimed to lean toward the vibe, musicality, style, and aesthetic of each era.
She wanted the tour to serve as a “time capsule” and celebrate both her new and old fans simultaneously. However, she second-guessed her idea, wondering “how” she would be able to play 45 songs live continuously for three hours and 15 minutes.
Swift further wrote that she gave “absolutely everything” to the attendees and continued to encourage herself to be “stronger than ever…” physically and mentally. He also admitted to maintaining a disciplined lifestyle by fully committing to his health, fitness and stamina in order to advance on the stage.
She added, “Thankfully, I’m surrounded by my incredible crew, band, singers and dancers who match my dedication to the scale and challenges of this show.” Swift shared that she managed to perform at her best despite both external and internal challenges – whether “in pouring rain, sweltering heat, dense humidity, wild winds, or freezing cold, ” she recalls.
The Eras Tour becomes the first tour to gross $1 billion by December 2023.
