Tamannaah supports John Abraham after criticism over film selection: Don’t judge ‘Veda’
At the trailer launch of ‘Veda’, John Abraham faced criticism for being a repeat of his action films. Tamannaah Bhatia, who did a cameo in the film, defended it and highlighted the unique elements of the film.

Tamannaah Bhatia has supported her ‘friend’ and co-star John Abraham after the controversy over his ‘can I call you stupid’ statement at a recent press conference. Echoing John Abraham’s sentiment about his upcoming film ‘Veda’, Tamannaah also said that the film is not just another action film but will add a new perspective on how ‘this genre can convey a meaningful cinematic experience’.
Bhatia wrote on X, “Don’t judge Veda by its cover – trust me, it’s so much more than just an action film! My friend @TheJohnAbraham, one of the country’s favourite action heroes, brings his incredible influence to a genre he is a master of. This time, he’s telling a different kind of story through action, showing how deeply this genre can convey meaningful cinematic experiences in today’s times.”
She further added, “What’s even more exciting for me personally is that Nikkhil Advani is returning to the director’s chair after 6 or 7 years, which adds another layer of anticipation to our film. I can’t forget to mention #Sharvari here and I can’t wait for you all to see her rocking the big screen once again!”
He concluded by saying, “Although my contribution to the film is minor, I am really excited about its release and partnering with John, Nikhil sir, Sharvari, Abhishek Banerjee, and the entire team of Ved. Our film promises to bring a fresh approach to action films in our country, and I think everyone will love to watch this new story on the big screen.”

The controversy arose when John Abraham expressed his displeasure over it. Trailer launch of ‘Veda’ When a journalist commented that his action movies are repetitive, John was asked ‘something new‘ He lost his temper on hearing (something new). He replied, “‘Have you seen the film? (Have you seen the movie)? Can I call out bad questions and idiots?”
‘Veda’ is set to release on August 15. Abhishek Banerjee plays the villain in this action-thriller directed by Nikhil Advani. Tamannaah Bhatia and Mouni Roy will also be seen doing cameos in the film.
