Taapsee Pannu says Dinky was a gift after 10 years of struggle

talking to ScreenPannu addressed why she loves films donkey Especially for actors who are not seen as traditional, mainstream choices, it is difficult to come by. “It is difficult for someone like me to get a film like Dinky because I am not considered a commercial, mainstream, viable heroine,” she said, adding that the role came to her because the role required someone with her sensibilities.
The actor explained that his work in content-driven films played an important role in shaping that opportunity. “I got it donkey because i did movies like Asi And Gandhari. These films have given me my place and identity in the industry. This is my reality,” he said, calling the film a “gift” he has received after more than a decade in cinema.
Pannu also admitted that despite proven success, commercial films of such a large scale are not available. She said, “I don’t know how long it will take me to get another one. It’s still a struggle because people have to come up with the idea of introducing me in a more glamorous, mainstream space.”
Highlighting the irony of the industry’s perceptions, Pannu explained that she started her career working with mass entertainers. He commented, “I started my career in big films in the South and my Hindi film debut was with David Dhawan. It doesn’t get more commercial and in-your-face than this.”
