Taapsee Pannu has never been one to shy away from honest conversations and this time, the actor has opened up about the changing nature of Bollywood’s promotional culture. In a recent interview, he reflected on how PR strategies in the Hindi film industry have become louder and more aggressive, explaining that promotion today is no longer just about highlighting one’s own work, but is often about dragging down others – a trend he has deliberately chosen to stay away from.

talking to Times Now NewsTaapsee explained that her relatively slow pace in the last few years has been deliberate. Taking a step back, he said, helped him see clearly how the industry’s promotion ecosystem now operates. She said, “I was very busy with my work. But in the last 1.5-2 years I have slowed things down and that’s a conscious effort too. I have realized that this PR game has gone to another level. You are either paying, I mean, to push yourself. It was a version of doing PR. You are also paying to push someone else down.”

Questioning the mindset behind this change, Taapsee expressed concern over how success is being measured faster than others. “Since when did your success become dependent on someone else’s failure? People have started creating a new facade of their personality because they need relevance,” he said, stressing the pressure of creating a public persona to attract attention rather than letting the work speak for itself.

The actress also highlighted that she sees a growing distance between the voices celebrities project in public and the work they do on screen. She underlined the importance of authenticity, saying, “I don’t mind just being in a hit film, I also need a very strong voice, even if it’s not yours. But you have to create a voice. And the voice that you are trying to create beyond films is not matching with the work you are doing. So there is this inconsistency. You are saying something beyond your films but your work is saying something else.”

Taapsee further shared that she prefers to invest her time and money on herself and those close to her rather than indulging in promotional tactics like “planting articles”, making it clear that aggressive PR is not the route she intends to take.

Talking about work front, Taapsee made her acting debut with a Telugu film. Jhummandi Naadam In 2010 and entered Hindi cinema May harmful sight not fall on you in 2012. Over the years, he has carved a niche for himself by acting in films. Baby, Naam Shabana, Manmarziyaan, Mulk, Badla, Thappad, Rashmi Rocket, Haseen Dilruba, Dobara And Smile came again Dilruba.
