Suria is ready for its next Big-Banner Project Retro, directed by Karthik Subberaj. The film is slapped for a dramatic release on May 1 and has already attracted a lot of attention from fans. Recently, the makers organized a pre-of-relief event, which ended with the launch of the trailer of the film.
At the event, Suria took the center stage to share his views with fans and the entire team. He also ensured a special shout to his beloved wife Jyotika, which he referred to as his ‘Kannadi Pu’.
In his words, “There will be many layers in the film with love – laughter – war … I am here because of all of you … I am here because of your love … and thanks to my ‘Kannadi Poo’ who … My journey will not be a happy without it.”
For Anwarard, ‘Kanadi Poo’ is a word and retro also has a hook phrase from a song by Surya, which features Pooja Hegde.
Coming back into the film’s trailer, a 2-minute 42-second clip from retro shows Suriya in an extraordinary role as a gangster, which cannot stay away from violence and quarrels.

In retro, Pooja Hegde plays Suriya’s on-screen wife, while Karthik Subbaraj directors delays a love story, where the hero fights to reunite with his true love against all obstacles from his past.
In addition to the two leads, retro also includes Jairam, Karunakaran, Prakash Raj, Jujee George, Hospitals, Singampuli, Nasar and others.
The film is both written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj and is jointly produced by the Stone Bench Creations and 2D Entertainment. Music score for retro is composed by Santosh Narayanan.
Apart from this project, there is also a film of Suria with Surya 45, directed by RJ Balaji.
