Superman teaser: James Gunn’s first DC film takes flight with David Corenswet
The teaser trailer for Superman has been unveiled, marking a new era under James Gunn at DC Studios. Introducing David Corenswet as the new Superman, the film promises to captivate audiences with new adventures and characters.
The highly anticipated teaser trailer for Superman was released on December 19, marking the first film under James Gunn at DC Studios. Directed by Gunn, the film stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent, also known as Superman.
The two-minute and 19-second clip offers a glimpse of Superman’s iconic journey, including his bond with his faithful dog, Krypto, the Superdog. Fans are also introduced to Lois Lane, played by Rachel Brosnahan, with the trailer showing her romance with Clark.
Nicholas Hoult makes his DC debut as Superman’s great rival Lex Luthor, setting the stage for a compelling conflict. The trailer also hints at the presence of several other important characters, hinting towards an elaborate story.
James Gunn, who is directing the film, has provided interesting insight into the story and stylistic approach, ensuring fans that this Superman story will be unique.
According to Gunn, the film will jump straight into the action, avoiding lengthy production periods. He shared, “The story begins with Superman and Lois already being introduced, setting a fast-paced tone from the beginning.”
The director has also revealed that the flying scenes in the film are heavily inspired by Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick, promising exhilarating and realistic aerial sequences. Additionally, Lex Luthor’s deep hatred of Superman is already firmly established, giving the story a high level of dynamism.
