After announcing the sequel of ‘Border’ after 27 years, now the makers of ‘Border 2’ have announced the release date of the film. The Sunny Deol starrer will release after a year and a half on January 23, 2026.

On June 13, 2024, as ‘Border’ completes 27 years, the makers of the film announced the sequel. A statement announcing the film’s release date can be read, “After officially confirming ‘Border 2’, the makers have now announced the release date of ‘Border 2’ as January 23, 2026. Mark your calendars for a weekend filled with excitement, nostalgia and an epic cinematic experience.”

In the video, Sunny says,27 years ago a soldier had promised that he would return. To fulfil that promise, he is coming to say his salute to the soil of Hindustan He said, “Twenty-seven years ago a soldier had promised that he would return. To fulfil that promise, he is coming to salute the soil of India.”

The announcement video touts ‘Border 2’ as “India’s biggest war film”. The chartbuster song ‘Sandese Aate Hain’ by Roopkumar Rathod and Sonu Nigam plays in the background.

Directed by Anurag Singh, the film is produced by JP Dutta, Nidhi Dutta and Bhushan Kumar. Before this, he has directed films like ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’, ‘Jatt and Juliet’, ‘Punjab 1984’ and ‘Kesari’.

Recently, a source close to the ‘Border 2’ team shared that the team of the film will begin shooting from October 2024, “The team behind ‘Border 2’ has been working tirelessly to get everything ready and it has taken a lot of time to make it as they wanted to do justice to the magnitude of the first film. Now, since the preparations are almost complete, the team will begin shooting. As it is right now, the team will begin shooting in October.”

Ayushmann Khurrana has reportedly been roped in for a pivotal role in ‘Border 2’. The makers are yet to announce the rest of the cast.
