‘Stree 2’ final box office preview: Bumper opening, unexpected record on Independence Day
‘Stree 2’ is poised to become the biggest Bollywood film of the year. Its opening day collection at the box office is expected to surpass all estimates and expectations made by the trade industry.
‘Stree 2’ has finally registered the biggest advance sales business in Bollywood after ‘Animal’. The film is one of the big releases on Independence Day today i.e. 15th August and is on its way to register some of the biggest wins for the Hindi film industry at the box office, including the biggest Bollywood opener of the year and many more.
According to trade website reports, as of 6 am on Thursday, the film starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao has grossed Rs 23.36 crore in pre-sale by selling over 8.2 lakh tickets in India. SaconilcThis is the biggest advance booking number for a Hindi film this year, including ‘Fighter’ and ‘Kalki 2898 A.D.’ – both of which recorded the biggest opening for a Hindi film in 2024 so far with a gross of Rs 20.6 crore.
The film has already surpassed the advance sales business of ‘Dunky’. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer earned Rs 15.40 crore through advance booking on its first day and ‘Stree 2’ has already surpassed this figure in terms of margins. While the initial expectations for the film were between Rs 25-30 crore, it seems the sky is the limit now.
The Amar Kaushik-directed film is now expected to have a bumper opening of over Rs 40 crore in India. This is extraordinary for any film, and if it gets the good response that it is already getting, spot-booking is going to increase rapidly. As of now, the film is expected to surpass the opening day numbers of ‘Baahubali 2’ Hindi, ‘Bharat’, ‘Happy New Year’ and even ‘Tiger 3’.
