Stree 2 actor Abhishek Banerjee records Amitabh Bachchan’s entry on the sets of Section 84; says, ‘I didn’t want to forget it’

Actor Abhishek Banerjee, who is enjoying the success of Stree 2 starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has become a household name in recent years. In Stree 2, Abhishek reprised his role from the original film Stree, which released in 2018. Now, the actor has an upcoming film Section 84, starring megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Abhishek recently revealed that he was star-stuck seeing Big B’s entry on the sets, so much so that the Stree 2 actor recorded a video of the megastar as he didn’t want to forget the moment.

In a new interview with PTI, Abhishek Banerjee shared his experience of working with Amitabh Bachchan in the Ribhu Dasgupta directorial Section 84.

Recalling the moment of Bachchan’s entry, Abhishek shared, “I recorded it because I never wanted to forget it.” The Veda actor expressed that Big B’s walk took him to a “nostalgic era” of his prime years.

Abhishek said the megastar’s dialogues and action scenes “flashed” in front of his eyes when he saw that moment in real life. He called the 81-year-old megastar an “institution” with whom every actor wants to work in their life.

The Paatal Lok actor, who has two hit films, Stree 2 and Veda, shared last week that Section 84 was the fastest film he agreed to do.

Abhishek remembered saying ‘yes’ when he heard he was offered a film with Amitabh Bachchan. The Stree 2 actor said he “didn’t hear the next two lines.” While the makers had asked him to hear the story, he felt it wasn’t needed.

Abhishek Banerjee further revealed that director Ribhu had envisioned him as a character who is “almost Bachchan-like” opposite Mr Bachchan. He added that this was a “huge deal” for him.

In 2023, Abhishek Banerjee shared the script of Section 84 on X and penned down his feelings about collaborating with Amitabh Bachchan. He shared that he was “grateful” to work with the “legend” Big B. The Stree actor also thanked the director for giving him the opportunity to “turn his dream into reality”.

Stree 2 and Veda released on the same date this year, August 15 (Independence Day).
