South Indian actor Srinidhi Shetty recently revealed that he had auditioned for Sita’s role in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’. However, this part eventually went to Telugu star Sai Pallavi. In an interview recently, Srinidhi reflected on the audition process and shared his views on Sai, in which Sai portrayed Sita in front of Ranbir Kapoor.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, the actor, who woke up to fame with his role in the blockbuster Kannada film franchise ‘KGF’, said, “Now, as the shoot is already happening, I think I can say this and I gave a screen test and gave a screen test. I remember that they were very well ready;”

He continued, “I had heard that Yash was a part of Ramayana, and at that time, ‘KGF 2’ was just released, and the pair was a hit – people were loving it.”

Shetty continued to explain, “In just one or two months, this happened (Ramayana audition). So I was thinking, he will play Ravan, I will play Sita; we will stand against each other. So people probably were not able to digest us against each other. So somewhere I thought it could happen or not.”

Srinidhi Shetty also played a role in Sai Pallavi. “But I think Sai Pallavi is a great option. I would like to see her as Sita in the film, and as I always say – when something works, it is very good; when nothing happens, it is still amazing because new doors will open to you,” she said.

Srinidhi Shetty will be seen next time in Telugu actor Nani’s ‘Hit: The Third case’. The much awaited film will be a hit in theaters on 1 May.
