Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja have introduced their second son on Instagram. Revealing the name, the actor said that it has a sacred Vedic connection with his elder brother Vayu.
Actress Sonam Kapoor on Saturday shared a glimpse of her growing family, revealing that she and Anand Ahuja have named their second son — while also choosing to highlight the deep, spiritual meaning behind it.
The announcement was made through a family photo, in which Sonam focused on the spiritual meaning behind the name and its connection to her first child Vayu Kapoor Ahuja.

Sonam and Anand have named their newborn baby Rudralok Kapoor Ahuja. He was born on 29 April.
In her note, Sonam described the birth of her second child as a continuation of a larger spiritual narrative. “With love and gratitude, we welcome Rudralok Kapoor Ahuja (sic),” he wrote, calling it a “divine couple” with his elder son.

She continued explaining the importance of the name. Referring to the Vedic roots, Sonam said that Rudra symbolizes a powerful, transformative force associated with storm, breath, healing and renewal.
He also highlighted the connection between his sons’ names, noting that Vayu represents the life force, while Rudra symbolizes strength and transformation. Together, he described them as complementary energies – “breath and strength, preservation and transformation.”
The announcement drew reactions from film industry members and fans. Bipasha Basu reacted with emojis, while Sophie Choudry shared her best wishes for the family.
Sonam and Anand, who married in 2018, welcomed their first child in 2022. With the arrival of his second son, the actor has once again shared a glimpse of his personal life, which he has kept largely private in recent years.
