Actor Sidharth Malhotra has revealed the meaning behind his daughter Saraiyah’s name. He and his actor-wife Kiara Advani announced their daughter’s name in a joint Instagram post on November 28, along with a photo of his hands holding Sarayah’s feet.

Speaking to journalist Barkha Dutt, Siddharth said, “Sarayah is ‘Princess of God’. It’s definitely not in Hindi. It’s a foreign name that comes from the East. It’s actually a Hebrew name.”
The actor spoke about how his daughter, who is now four months old, has become the center of attraction at his house. He said, “I realized that I am no longer the hero of the house. She is a superstar. She is 4 months old.”
Siddharth also reflected on the decision to make his daughter’s name public. “We were wondering whether we should announce it or not. Because.” There is no need to make announcement in every house. But then we realized that we will make it official and announce her name,” he said.
Reflecting on fatherhood, Sidharth talked about his admiration for Kiara and being practical during and after her pregnancy.
He said, “Yes! I mean, you should ask my wife this. I see my daughter becoming a superstar, my wife becoming a superhero. The process of watching her through pregnancy and birth is an eye-opening experience for me. Men always talk about courage and grit and strength, but women really display it when they become mothers.”
He said, “I have seen her through her pregnancy, going through hormonal and physical changes. And now, she is a true superhero, taking care of Sariaah. I am contributing a little by changing diapers and clicking pictures, or just trying to maintain a happy atmosphere.”
Her social media post announcing Sarayah’s name read, “From our prayers, to our arms, with our divine blessings, our princess, Sarayah Malhotra. (sic)” The announcement received support from fans and the film industry alike.
Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani married in February 2023 and welcomed their first child, Saryah, in July 2025.
