A brief but sharp exchange between actor Shruti Haasan and the paparazzi has gained attention online after the actor reacted strongly to being called “mumma” during a public outing.
The incident happened when Shruti was coming out of a restaurant and photographers surrounded her. When she stopped for pictures, a paparazzi called her using the word “mama” – a comment which did not go down well with the actor.
Obviously displeased he replied, “Who is Mama? is your mom? what are you talking about?” (Who is mamma? Is this your mother? What are you saying?). The moment was captured on video and quickly circulated on social media.

The clip generated mixed reactions online. Many users supported Shruti, and called out the paparazzi for crossing personal boundaries. “They didn’t call him, they asked him to take a picture with the elderly lady who was there, thinking she was his momma. KVery good (Thus), one user wrote, while another pointed out the lack of basic etiquette in such conversations.
Shruti is not the only actress who has reacted to the paparazzi’s uncomfortable behaviour. Earlier, Jaya Bachchan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have also mentioned similar incidents.
