Shalini Pandey wants action film with Ranveer, told Dhurandhar as her favourite.
Shalini Pandey in an exclusive interview said that she wants to explore action films and called Ranveer Singh as her dream co-star. He described Dhurandhar as one of his recent favorite films.
Actress Shalini Pandey has said that she is keen to venture into the action genre and has named Ranveer Singh as someone with whom she would like to share screen space, adding that her recent film stalwart One of his favourites. The 32-year-old opened up about her ambitions as an artist, her desire to explore action and comedy, and the collaborators she hopes to work with.

Shalini Pandey, who has worked across multiple genres, spoke to India Today in an exclusive chat about what kind of roles she is looking forward to playing next. The actress said that she now wants to get into action.
Willing to explore the action and comedy genres
“So, I’m telling you, I’m so ambitious that I think I want to do a lot of things. I’ve played sports my whole life, and I love them, so I think I would like to be in an action movie. I enjoy action. I enjoy the thrill of it. So, action is really something I want to do,” she said.
“Then comedy is a space I definitely want to explore because, as an audience, I enjoy these things. So, I think, you know, action, comedy. And then, obviously, I want to work with people who inspire me as an actor, who push me beyond my own comfort zone. Because I think if I get comfortable, it’s not like I don’t try to be too comfortable with where I am. But I think as an actor, I don’t want to be in a place where I’m not growing at all, so that’s a big part of it,” the actor added.
For Pandey, the appeal of action films lies in the physicality and thrills they demand. She admitted that when she imagines herself in such a place, she focuses more on the experience than on the co-star. “Wow, I haven’t thought about it. I mean, selfishly, I only think about myself. When I think of an action movie, I’ve only thought of it in terms of wanting to be in it, and then visuals of myself doing action come to my mind. Whenever I say I want to be in an action movie, I’m automatically kicking, spinning, flying and doing all that. So, it never crossed my mind. That’s who it will be,” she said.
She laughs, “I hope I get paired with someone who complements me, and I can complement that person. That’s the most basic answer I can give, which I don’t really have.”
Ranveer called Hrithik his favorite
However, when asked to name actors with whom she would like to collaborate, Pandey mentioned Ranveer Singh, praising his versatility, and also cited Hrithik Roshan as inspiration for action roles. “I think, off the top of my head, I like Ranveer as an actor. So, I think he’s someone because I’ve seen stalwartThis is one of my recent favorite movies, so I think he’s a guy who can be good at anything. He is a versatile actor. So, I think about that. I like Ranveer.”
She concluded, “I also think about Hrithik Roshan because I have grown up watching him do these things. So, I think I have both of them in my mind.”
On the professional front, Shalini made her debut with the 2017 Telugu film Arjun Reddy. She debuted in Hindi film with Ranveer in 2022 jayeshbhai vigorous. The actor was recently seen in the film 2026 Rahu Ketu and series Bandwala.
