Veteran Bollywood actor Mumtaz has made it clear that he will not play the role of Shah Rukh Khan’s mother in any film. In an interview recently, the 77 -year -old actress explained that she has a personal rule: she would only play the role of a mother for actors who were at least 20 years younger than her.
This year turned 60 years old, Shah Rukh Khan once famous revealed that his first crush was Mumtaz. Responding to this old comment, Mutz accepted it, saying that he may have called it in the zest. But when asked if he would be open to his mother to play on the screen, he firmly said no.
Talking to journalist Vicky Lalwani, Mumtaz said, “I will only play the role of a mother for an actor, who is 20 years younger than me, and that too, provided that I look good on the screen.” He told that he was married at an early age and his real -life children do not look much less than that. For her, the attendance plays a big role in choosing roles at this level in her life.
Asked why she would not consider playing the role of Shahrukh’s mother, if someone like Jaya Bachchan has done so before, Mumtaz said, “This is Jaya’s decision.” She added with a smile, “Tell Shahrukh that I will work with him if I really see so. But he will say that no. Why do I want gray hair?”
Despite joking about Shahrukh’s possible response, Mumtaz had nothing but kind to the actor. “He is very intelligent, very smart, and a cute person. Just because he likes me, it does not mean that he put me if I don’t see the part.”
Mumtaz also praised Hollywood veteran Jane Fonda, especially her role in mother -in -law. He described Fonda’s character as stylish and strong, given that he would be open to play a similar role, glamorous, well prepared and with a strong personality. “Her character did not want to accept a girl who was ‘Garib’ (poor). She had the freedom to see and dress in the way she wanted. This is something that I would like.”
A decade ago, Shah Rukh shared during a press event that his first two crushes were Mumtaz and Saira Bano, calling them the most beautiful women in the world.
