Daniel Smith, who was a former Vibe Editor-in-Chief, claimed in a report on Wednesday that Sean Didi Comombs posed a threat of death against him in a controversy over a magazine cover for his April issue. His lawyers called such allegations ‘pure story’.
Smith has the latest allegations in the new investigation Discure Discuseer, The Fall of Didi. In a preview released on 23 January, she describes an incident in which she stated that Combes demanded a cover before a version of the company. After further refusal after the company’s policy, Smith said Combs threatened over the phone that he would find “dead in a trunk”.
After the exchange, Smith called his lawyer, who contacted Comombs. She says that two hours later an apology fax arrived. Smith also accused Combes of visiting the magazine’s offices, along with two people in search of him.
Smith said, “I have come only to feel only through the members of the employees at that time, (Comombs), in fact, in earlier days, come to vibe offices with two difficult people.”
The claim is not new. Smith earlier told the story of the alleged 1997 encounter in the New York Times magazine essay in July 2024. But a source close to Comombs disputed her version of her incidents, asking why she was able to continue working with her professionally for so many years if she really threatened her.
The legal team representing Combes described the documentary as a ‘unilateral and pre -prejudice story’, which was aimed at seizing media coverage, especially when they did not get an opportunity to rebel.
Comombs lawyers told the people, “These documentaries are running to cash in the media circus around Mr. Comombs. The producers failed to provide sufficient time or details for their representatives, which to address the unrelated claims For, many people from unknown participants are in context. “
Currently, the disorganized, Scene Didi Comombs is under the prosecution on federal allegations and many other civil matters filed against him at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. He has not entered the guilty arguments.
The discovery of the investigation and the streams on Max premiere on January 27-28.
