Scott Disick says he’s been open with his eldest son about his past drinking problem.
Disick appeared on the first episode of Khloe Kardashian’s new podcast Khloe in Wonderland on Wednesday, January 8, where he asked her to share her thoughts about letting her kids watch her famous reality show.
“Yes. I think it’s very beautiful… like a lot of families show their children albums of photos. We’re able to show them entire videos of their lives. Of them being born. Of them growing up. Have been,” Disick, who has three children — Mason, 15, Penelope, 12, and Reign, 10 — with ex Kourtney Kardashian, said.
When Kardashian asked him if he wouldn’t mind his children learning about his past struggles with alcohol through Keeping Up with the Kardashians footage, Disick explained, “I don’t want them to see that. But the truth is, I explain to Mason how much drinking affected me and how badly it affected me in some places.
Kardashian stopped by Disick to compliment his honesty toward his children.

Disick shared that Mason thought his father would treat him differently when it came time to drink. However, Disick assured his son that he would not let his past mistakes dictate how he would deal with his children’s drinking habits in the future. However, he added bluntly, “But if I see an alcohol problem with you, I will take action.”
According to him, Disick needs to keep an eye on his son’s drinking to check if he has any hereditary problems. But until then, he’ll treat her like every other kid, she told Kardashian.
Poking fun at the talentless founder, Kardashian quipped that maybe if Mason saw how different he was when his father first drank, he’d stop him from drinking.
“Wow, like my dad was really a d***,” Disick said, teasing his son.
“But he also knows how incredible you are now,” Kardashian said. “So it’s not like you’re still like this.”
Disick shared with the Good American founder that he warns his son about the pitfalls of drinking all the time, saying it can either be way too much fun or really bad.
If you know someone who is struggling with alcohol or substance abuse, please contact the authorities and report it. There are many helplines available for this.
