Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson started her direction with Ellenor the Great at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, which was a hearty Indie film at June Squib.
The film tells the story of a 94 -year -old woman named Ellenor (starring), who is transferred to New York after the death of her best friend (Rita Zohar). There, she spontaneously attends a wrong meeting at a Jewish Community Center and considers the identity of her late friend as a Holocaust survivor.
The film delicately examines subjects of grief, loneliness and longing for connection.
Talking about the inspiration behind the film, Johansson said, “There is a lack of sympathy in the zitgist waiver, the environment in which we are less possible in the environment.” The film was shown in some ties segment of the United Nations and is appreciated for its tender tone and character-run story.
As reported by the Associated Press, Johansson shared that the desire to direct was part of his journey over the years. “I was not confident of directing the film 10 years ago,” she accepted.
The Cannes Premier came ahead of its upcoming blockbuster role in Jurassic World Riberths on Saturday night and in Jurassic World Riberth.
Over the years, Johansson has expanded its creative role in Hollywood. He has produced several films, including Black Widow, Fly Me to the Moon, and now Ellenor the Great. His direction is a continuous attempt to follow his recent pattern to follow his instinct, including his public disputes with major companies such as Disney and Openai.
The emotional effect of the film was felt in Cannes, where both Johansson and Squeb got a permanent ovation. Recalling the hot reception of the festival, Johansson said, “It was unforgettable to catch June at that time.”
