Saudi Arabia has warned expatriates that staying in the kingdom after the expiry of their entry visa could result in a fine of up to SR50,000, imprisonment of up to six months and deportation. In a statement, the Interior Ministry urged visa holders to follow the country’s immigration rules and reminded the public to report violations of residence, labor and border security regulations. Reports can be made by calling 911 in Mecca, Medina, Riyadh and the Eastern Province or 999 in all other areas. The warning comes as Saudi authorities continue to strictly enforce immigration laws. Last week, the Interior Ministry said more than 15,000 people were arrested during a nationwide operation targeting residence, labor and border security violations, underscoring the government’s ongoing crackdown on immigration-related crimes.Authorities have repeatedly said they will continue to enforce the state’s residence and border rules and have urged both residents and visitors to follow the law to avoid legal action.
