Samsung has been a major player in the foldable smartphone market for almost seven years. Now, the company is working on its first tri-folded phone, which may be launched later this year. However, recent reports suggest that Samsung cannot release the device globally, including India. Instead, it can be limited to markets such as China and South Korea. According to a report by Android headlinesA new Samsung device with model number SM-F968 has been seen in the GSMA (GSM Association) database. Listing suggests that the company is internal calling this device “Q7M”. There are two versions of this phone in the database-SM-F9680 and SM-F968n.

According to sources, the SM-F9680 model can be the Chinese version, while the SM-F968N version may be for the South Korean market. This shows that Samsung’s first tri-folded phone may not be launched at least in other areas. The company has not yet made any official statement about the global availability of this phone.

For those who do not know, Samsung has been working on a three-tight phone for a long time. Recent patent filing provide clues about the possible design of this upcoming device. According to the patent, the phone may have a dual-inr folding design. This means that both sides of the screen will bend the segment inside. In contrast, Huawei’s Mate XT, the world’s first triangular-folded phone, turns into a zigzag pattern. The design of Huawei allows it to use the same foldable display as an external screen, but Samsung’s design may require a separate secondary performance. However, this approach can improve the durability of the main foldable screen as it will be preserved when folded.

One of the Samsung patents also suggests that Tri-Guna phone can support S Pen. Patent shows a dedicated slot to sketch stylus in documents. He said, it is important to note that companies like Samsung file many patents, and not all of them turn into real products. The final design of the phone may be different from seen in the patent. Samsung may also change its market strategy before launch.

If Samsung’s first tri-folded phone is available only in China and South Korea, it may disappoint fans in other countries that are waiting for a more advanced foldable device. However, it is possible that Samsung may expand the availability later based on the success of the initial launch. For now, it remains to be seen when and where Samsung will officially unveil its first three-fold smartphone.
