CES 2025 starts today and Samsung’s first look event focuses on the present and future of displays. The company also unveiled new TVs, a projector, and even a beauty mirror. Furthermore, you shouldn’t be shocked to learn that AI is pervasive in everything.

Samsung launched what it calls “Samsung Vision AI”, which is the foundation for AI-powered screens of the future. This allows displays at home to be aware of their surroundings and adapt to their users. Before you dismiss it, some features seem quite useful.

Live Translation is an on-device AI model that translates subtitles in real time. Yes, we have reached the 21st century and sometimes you still can’t find subtitles in your language. This is an application that is perfect for AI.

Additionally, Click to Search monitors what’s on the screen and provides more information – for example it can identify an actor. It sounds similar to Amazon’s X-Ray feature, but without relying on people to prepare answers in advance.

Additionally, Samsung Vision AI will integrate with the SmartThings ecosystem. Home Insights can show alerts and daily updates for your home. If a child falls asleep while watching TV, Pet & Family Care can do things like dim the lights.

Still not enough AI for you? Samsung has partnered with Microsoft to bring Copilot to its smart TVs and smart monitors and will be working with Google and other AI partners for even more.

Now, onto the new devices. The Samsung Neo QLED 8K QN990F is a large 85” TV with 8K resolution. Don’t have 8K content to watch? Create your own – The NQ8 AI Gen3 processor can upscale low-resolution content to 8K. It can also boost visuals with Auto HDR Remastering Pro and Color Booster Pro. Adaptive Sound Pro uses AI to separate different sound components (speech, music, sound effects), giving you more control over the audio.

Samsung’s portrait-like The Frame is getting a more advanced version with The Frame Pro. It has a Neo QLED panel with better local dimming for deeper blacks and an NQ4 Gen3 AI processor. Samsung has partnered with Art Basel to make The Frame the official art exhibit for the international art fair.

Abandoning traditional TVs, Samsung unveiled the Premiere 5, the first triple-laser ultra-short-throw projector. It supports touch, allowing it to display interactive content (see the video below for a demo).

Mirror, Wall Mounted Mirror is not just a fairy tale – Micro LED Beauty Mirror provides “personalized beauty insight” by analyzing your skin type. This technology was developed by Amorepacific, a leading Korean cosmetics company.
