Samsung is allegedly preparing to unveil its next generation foldable phones-at the beginning of Calaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7-Jamuli, is expected to be in New York with a global launch event. If true, it makes a comeback to the city where Samsung held its unpacked event back in 2022. Last year, foldables were manifested in Paris, but it seems that the company is bringing things back to America this time. Time also matches last year’s pattern, with the previous incident to be held on 10 July. There is a public holiday in the US since July 4, Samsung is likely to schedule the launch just after that. Both devices are expected to title the event, with folds 7 and Flip 7 main highlights.
According to a report by JoongangThis will be Samsung’s second unpacked event of the year, and meditation will be fully on foldable technology. While the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 have been highly confirmed to launch at this event, there is also a chance that Samsung can perform its very rummer triangle-folded smartphone. If this happens, it can also steal the spotlight from the main devices. In addition to foldables, other product announcements may include the preview of Galaxy Z Flip FE, a new Galaxy watch and possibly Samsung’s Android-Interested XR headset.
As the fold will bring on 7 tables, do not expect a complete redesign. Instead, Samsung is focusing on refining the overall experience. Rumors suggest that the phone will see improvement in three major areas – performance, construction and camera. The internal screen can be slightly larger, which increases to 8 inches, while external performance can also increase to 6.5 inches in size. There are indications that Samsung has improved the under-display camera, which means that the phone can be better selfie quality.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is also rumored to be thin and lighter, potentially when measuring only 4.5 mm – when it is one of the thinnest foldables. Durability upgrade is also on the card, with strong screen layers and possibly better water and dust resistance. On the camera front, the Samsung can equip the device with a 200-megapixel primary sensor-something that will bring it closer to the flagship Galaxy S series in terms of photography performance.
Other expected features include upgraded stereo speakers, enhanced haptics, a large cooling system and the latest Snapdragon 8 elite chip. Software-wise, Galaxy Z fold 7 will be likely to ship with a UI 8 based on Android 15.
