Samsung’s visit to Samsung with its exinos chipset has been a rollercaster, but the company is firm to turn around. EXYNOS 2500 after facing supply issues, Samsung forced Samsung to fully rely on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for the Galaxy S25 series, the company now focus on its next generation exynos 2600 for the Galaxy S26 series Is focusing. Reports suggest that Samsung is working hard to stabilize the yield for Axinos 2600, which can eventually break the streak of bad luck associated with its in-house chipset.
The Exynos 2600 is being developed using the Samsung’s SF2 process, which includes 3-generation GAA technology, which should help in increased performance and better battery efficiency. The second half of this year is expected to start massive production, promoting 12 percent performance in the new process, 25 percent better power efficiency and 5 percent decrease in chip size. The initial test production run has already gained 30 percent yield, which is a positive sign compared to the conflicts faced with Exinos 2500. If Samsung can further yield, the Axinos 2600 can become a viable option for the 2600 Galaxy S -26 series, ensuring a balanced chipset mixture and reducing dependence on Qualcomm.
This step is important for Samsung, as Qualcomm is allegedly planned to increase the prices of its Snapdragon chipset in 2026. Relying on Snapdragon completely will either squeeze Samsung’s profit margin or force the company to increase smartphone prices, none of which are ideal.
While the Galaxy S25 series exynos missed 2500, Samsung did not leave the chipset completely. During the recent income calls, the company’s system LSI Division indicated that the Axinos 2500 is being secured for the mobile model prescribed for release in H2 2025. This timeline indicates Samsung’s upcoming foldables, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, which are required to launch in the second half of next year. It is still not clear whether all the variants of these foldables will have the feature of Acinos 2500 or if some market will continue to use Snapdragon 8 Elite of Qualcomm.
Leaked about Exynos 2500 suggests a re -designed CPU configuration, which goes 1+2+3+4 cluster to 1+2+2+5 setup in Exynos 2400. This change can improve performance and efficiency, addressing some criticisms faced by the previous Exynos chipset.
