Singham Again releases on the big screens on November 1, 2024. This police action film features a stellar cast including Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar and others. The exciting part of the recently released film is Salman Khan’s cameo in the post-credits scene. Director Rohit Shetty has revealed that Salman will not be joining the cop universe and Mission Chulbul Singham is a standalone film.
During his new interview with India Today, Rohit Shetty talked about bringing Salman Khan’s Chulbul Pandey and Ajay Devgan’s Bajirao Singham together on screen. Shetty clarified that the iconic characters belong to different worlds and Mission Chulbul Singham will be a merging of the two universes for one film.
The Singham Again director shared that they were two different intellectual properties that never met. The filmmaker said, “Chulbul is not in the universe, nor is Singham going there. It will be a union of two IPs and two universes for an individual film.”
Rohit Shetty further said that Mission Chulbul Singham will be a “standalone film” and will take time to go on floors.
Talking about Salman Khan’s cameo in Singham Again, Shetty stressed that adding the superstar to a full-fledged sequence would be “wasted”. He said that the audience would believe that this was not needed and that it could have been wrong. The director said it was “better” to have Salman make a brief appearance in the Ajay Devgan starrer.
For those unaware, Salman Khan’s cameo in Singham Again featured him in his police avatar as he uttered his iconic dialogue from the Dabangg series “Swagat nahi karoge hamara?” Recently released action film Mission Chulbul Singham, made in collaboration with Salman and Ajay, also entertained the audience.
Ajay Devgan reprises his role of DCP Bajirao Singham in Singham Again. Kareena Kapoor plays the character of his wife Avni Kamat. Arjun Kapoor has been cast as the main antagonist, Danger Lanka who kidnaps Kareena’s character in the film.
The narrative of Shetty’s latest directorial features references to the Hindu epic, Ramayana. The film also stars Tiger Shroff and Jackie Shroff in lead roles. It clashed with Kartik Aryan-starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 at the box office.
