Actor Salman Khan Galwan Valley war hero is fully prepared to portray the prestigious role of Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu. During the training for his upcoming epic battle drama based on the 2020 Indo-China clash, he is leaving no stone. Khan is focusing on being right to play the role of a decorated officer as it is about ‘respecting a legacy’.

Talking about the ongoing prepaid work of the actor for a big-life character, a source in an independent industry said, “Looking at the physical demands of the high height of the shooting in Leh and the physical demands to portray a decorated army officer like Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu, he is committed to a deep training. Symbols are symbolic, but the real testing is tolerating the real wind, long shoots and the dilapidated area.

The source further said, “Salman is interacting with this role with full honesty. He understands the responsibility of portraying someone like Colonel Babu – it is not only about physicality to be correct; it is about respecting an heritage. He is not only training for the camera, but is out of honor for every soldier serving the nation.”

The 2020 Galwan Valley Clash was a violent clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers, which increased tension with the line of real control (LAC). It caused casualties on both sides, the report killed at least 20 Indian soldiers and 45 Chinese troops. Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu won the Maha Wire Chakra posthumously for his valor during tension with China in the Galvan Valley.
