Salman Khan, Govinda, Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta starrer 2007 Rome-Com Partner are still remembered for its comedy and music. The film was a big hit at the box office, and one of the major reasons was Salman and Govinda’s bromance. Now, writer Alok Upadhyay has opened up about how director David Dhawan once managed the shooting of both the iconic song Soni de Nakhre Feet of the film. Alok also revealed that both of them charged a fee of Rs 15 crore for the film, and the choreographer was focusing on his feet, harassing the director.
During an interview with YouTube channel Lightscameramasti, Alok praised David Dhawan’s film production style and his skills in working with stars. The author said that Dhawan keeps an eye on everyone together while shooting for films, and knows how the scene will be edited and what he will do next.
Praising the knowledge of the filmmaker’s commercial cinema, he mentioned that he could convince the stars to do what he wanted. Alok recalled the shooting of Sony de Nakhare and revealed that the choreographer planned long shots.
“David saheb, I have an actor of Bolte Han, Bolte Han, 10 crores and I take 5 crores. Meditation is not meaningful to show his feet,” Alok said that the irritable filmmaker then told the choreographer that the choreographer then asked to take close shots of actors instead of focusing on decoration, as it would not work for the film.
According to Upadhyay, “Joe 2 Khade Han Inca Close Mir (Close-up of two actors, who have been paid Rs 15 crore).” He further revealed that the filmmaker planned the shot and asked the actors to perform, although he wanted. The rest we know that there is history!
Meanwhile, David Dhawan is currently his film is Ishaq Hon for Javani, which includes Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde and Mrinal Thakur and is expected to be released in theaters on October 2, 2025.
