Salman Khan approaches High Court against Black Deer, alleges damage to reputation
Salman Khan has approached the Delhi High Court against the film Blackbuck: Battle for Legacy over the alleged use of his personality. He says the film and its publicity could influence the ongoing proceedings and damage his reputation.

Actor Salman Khan has approached the Delhi High Court seeking an immediate stay on the production, promotion and release of the film. Blackbuck: battle for inheritanceHe alleged that this was a violation of his personality and publicity rights.
In his petition, the 60-year-old claimed that the film is inspired by the 1998 black buck case in which he is involved and its posters, teasers and promotional materials clearly identify him. The actor has alleged that the makers made a lookalike wear his signature bracelet and promoted the project by using his name for commercial gain. The first look of the film was to be released today.

Producer Amit Jani, Jani Firefox Films, Akshay Pandey and others have been named in the petition. Salman has also argued that the film could adversely affect the ongoing legal proceedings and cause irreparable damage to his reputation and goodwill.
The actor has sought an injunction against the production, promotion, release, streaming and dissemination of related promotional material of the film. Delhi High Court is scheduled to hear the interim injunction application.
Khan’s legal notice to makers of Black Deer
This development came days after Salman’s legal team sent notice to the makers of Blackbuck: Battle of the LegacyIt is alleged that the film is based on the ongoing blackbuck poaching case against the actor. The notice demanded an immediate halt to the release of the film and the removal of all posters and promotional material associated with the project. It also warned the manufacturers of further legal action.
On June 2, the film’s producer Amit Jani reacted to the legal notice and refuted the superstar’s claims, saying that the film is based entirely on information available in the public domain and focuses on the struggle of the Bishnoi community to protect wildlife.
Speaking especially to India TodayJani said that the notice was given ahead of time and added that the film is “not a Salman Khan biopic.” Calling the legal action “unnecessary”, the producer said that apart from a poster, nothing has been revealed about the film so far.
He said that he was surprised by the legal notice as only a poster was released while the teaser was scheduled to arrive on June 20.
The film is directed by Bharat S Shrinate and produced by Amit Jani under Firefox Media Pvt. Ltd. The makers have described it as a suspense-action drama inspired by real-life legal battles and incidents.
