Today, November 24, 2024, is the birthday of famous screenwriter, actor and producer Salim Khan. On this special occasion, let’s relive the moment when he spoke humorously about his son Salman Khan’s marriage. The Sholay writer’s epic answer about getting used to stress promises to leave you in stitches.
In an old episode of Komal Nahta Aur Ek Kahani, Salim Khan was asked when Salman Khan will get married. In response, he shared that for a marriage, you need two people: a girl and Salman. Salim ji jokingly said, “Kaai martaba karib-karib aake miss kar gaye hain” (Many times after coming close, we have almost missed). He said that now he has got used to it.
Salim ji continues his belief that Salman will marry when it is in his destiny. He said that there was no special reason behind his not getting married. Laughing, Salim ji further said that he cannot say such general things as his son’s career is not yet established or he is still too young for marriage. He admitted that he had no ‘defense’.
When Salim Khan was asked if he had any tension regarding his son’s marriage, he replied, “Kuch tension nahi rehta, ab tension ke utne to ho gayo hai, immune ho gaye hain.” We have become accustomed to stress, we have become immune to it).
He said that Salman’s mother had also got used to it and believed that when it has to happen, it will happen. Salim ji ended his talk on a funny note by saying, “Maine kaha coat tie pehan ke chale jaayenge” (I said I will just wear a coat and tie and go).
On November 21, Salman Khan took to Instagram to give fans a glimpse of his heart-warming bond with his father. In one picture, he was standing aside and his father was sitting on a bike. In the second picture, the superstar is shown posing in style on a bike. In the caption, Salman wrote, “Dad’s first bike, Triumph Tiger 100, 1956.”
On the work front, Salman is currently busy shooting for his action-thriller Sikandar, which will release on Eid 2025.
