As a part of the investigation into the brutal attack incident on Saif Ali Khan, Mumbai Police on Tuesday took the arrested accused to multiple locations to recreate the scene. After this, it has now been revealed that the security guards were sleeping when the intruder entered the actor’s residence.
According to PTI, Mumbai Police said that the guards at Saif Ali Khan’s house were sleeping when the intruder entered his premises on Thursday, January 16. Police revealed that the accused Shariful Islam Shahzad alias Vijay Das entered through the main entrance, where there were no CCTV cameras. Established.
Details emerged when Mumbai Police on Tuesday recreated the crime scene at the actor’s building, where he lives with his wife Kareena Kapoor and their two children – Taimur and Jeh. A police officer was quoted as revealing that the accused climbed the wall of the compound of the actor’s residence and saw that two security guards were sleeping. Then he took off his shoes and put them in his bag to avoid any noise and also switched off his phone.
“During investigation, the police found that there were no CCTV cameras installed in the corridor of the building. Investigation revealed that one of the two security guards was sleeping in the cabin and the other near the gate,” he said.
Mumbai Police spent nearly an hour recreating the crime scene inside the actor’s 12-storey residence along with the arrested accused, while trying to understand how alleged attacker Shehzad committed the crime during the robbery attempt.
The intruder entered the actor’s residence on January 16 with the intention of committing robbery. However, the situation went out of hand when a domestic help saw her and raised the alarm, prompting Saif and another staff member to intervene. In the process of the collision, the actor suffered multiple injuries, following which he was taken to Lilavati Hospital in an autorickshaw by his son, Taimur Ali Khan, and another staff person.
The actor underwent surgery which included removing a 2.5-inch knife from his spine. After being under the observation of doctors for several days, he was finally discharged on Tuesday evening, 22 January.
