Earlier in April 2025, it was announced that Neeraj Ghaywan’s film Homebound is going to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. The actors include Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khat and Vishal Jethwa. Ishan, who is currently busy promoting its upcoming series The Royals, recently opened up for the first time to catch Cannes Red Carpet.
The 78th Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to take place from 13 May to 24, 2025. Ishaan is going to the international event with Khatam Homebound Team. Talking about it in a recent interview with PTI, Ishaan said, “This is my first chance on Cannes Red Carpet, and, as I prayed, with my film.”
The actor further praised Neeraj Gaywan, called him a ‘special’ filmmaker. Ishaan said, “They have a spine that many people cannot boast.”
Ishaan further revealed that he wanted to cooperate with Neeraj since he had seen Masan. Thus, he realized that it was a ‘full cycle’ moment for him. Recalling his first meeting with the filmmaker for homebound, Ishaan shared that he promised his 100 percent commitment if he felt a relationship with the script.
Earlier, after the official announcement, Ishaan Khat expressed his happiness on Instagram. He wrote, “This is the one who makes dreams. Pure intention, patience, compassion and truth. One of the most glorious moments of my cinematic journey so far.”
Homebound is Neeraj Ghaywan’s second feature film. Ishaan Khat, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor’s first look has been revealed. The film is produced by Karan Johar, other Poonwal, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra. It is co-produced by Marizke Desuza and Melita Toscan du Plantar. Homebound will premiere at the United Nations Cannes Film Festival at 2025.
Meanwhile, Ishaan Khatar will be seen next time in the OTT series The Royals. He plays the role of Avivaj Singh, a prince, and is associated with Bhumi Pednekar. Royals is a romantic comedy to release on Netflix on May 9, 2025.
