A glitch on the Royal Albert Hall website caused Vir Das’s photo to be shown for Aziz Ansari’s upcoming show, leading to comical reactions from both the comedian and his fans.
A harmless website slip-up turns into comedy gold when Vir Das discovers that his photo was accidentally used to promote Aziz Ansari’s upcoming show at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall. And true to form, Das chose humor over outrage, nailing the mix with a self-aware quip that made fans laugh.
The error came to light on Sunday when the venue’s website briefly displayed Vir Das’s image while advertising Ansari’s hypothetical tour stop in July. A friend reported the confusion to Das, who immediately shared a screenshot of the Google result on social media.
“@azizansari or @veerdas? Guess we all look alike,” Das wrote cheekily, adding, “My show is April 1st. But who will tell them 🙂 It’s been sent.”
The Royal Albert Hall moved quickly to correct the error and updated its website with the correct promotional image of Ansari. Their show is now officially listed for July 11, with ticket details expected to be announced soon.
On the work front, Vir Das recently made his directorial debut Happy Patel: Dangerous DetectiveWhich he also headlined. The film stars Mona Singh and Aamir Khan and Imran Khan in cameo roles, and was co-directed by Kavi Shastri.
