Famous veteran actress Aruna Irani has made the film industry proud with many memorable performances. Recently, he recalled his time working with Rishi Kapoor in Bobby, describing him as a ‘naughty child’ on the sets. He also shared a heart-warming anecdote about Raj Kapoor, who showed his compassion by calling pack-up when he had a headache during filming, which was a display of his true care towards his actors.
In a recent interview with ETimes, Aruna Irani shared her memories of Rishi Kapoor during the filming of Bobby, and described him as a ‘naughty child’. He highlighted how Raj Kapoor never treated Rishi as his son on the set, but approached him as a new talent for the role.
Reflecting on his collaboration, he said, “I did many films with Rishi Kapoor. He was a nice person. He was a mischievous child. As an actor, he was very cooperative with his directors and co-actors. “
The veteran actress fondly recalled the moment Raj Kapoor showed amazing compassion towards his actors by canceling the shoot after he mentioned that he had a headache. She described one evening when, while waiting for lighting for a party scene, she felt unwell.
When Raj saw her distress, he immediately called for pack-up, even though the scene in which she was trying to woo Rishi’s character in a green dress was expensive. Although he offered to continue filming even after taking the medication, Raj insisted on postponing it, saying that as an actor, he understands the importance of well-being. His sympathy and consideration for his artists left a lasting impression on him.
Aruna also recalled the fair treatment given by Raj Kapoor to his son Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia on the sets. He recalled that Raj treated Rishi like any newcomer, and focused on honing his talent rather than his family bond.
