Retro, starring Suriya in the lead, and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is gearing up for the release very soon. The film is one of the most awaited Kollywood films of this year. It is expected to open a bangar as the Tamil Flicks is receiving an encouraging response in its advance booking.
Retro progressed Rs 4.25 crore with 2 days
Supported by 2D Entertainment, Retro has recorded a very good pre-selling of Rs 4.25 crore for the early day alone. With Pooja Hegde as well as an artist contingent, a romantic action drama has sold around 2.40 million tickets in over 1400 shows across the state.
Still in hand for two days, Retro has a good chance to bring a Benger pre-booking before killing theaters. The film is likely to emerge as one of the best opening of Suriya’s career in recent times. If the material clicks with the public, the film will get a quick boost in its pre-selling. Retro’s east-sell east-selling is equal to a mark of Rs 7.50 crore in Tamil Nadu.
Retro recorded a much better prior sales than Amarran; Set to face hit 3 and raids 2
To give a perspective, Karthik Subbaraj is showing the trends of better advance booking than the director of the Hall- Amaran, Ryan, Indian 2, Thangalan and Kangwa.
For Anward, Retro is releasing in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi on Thursday (May 1). Apart from its former state’s books, the film is also seeing a good pace in states like Kerala and Karnataka. It will face Nani’s hit 3 in Telugu states and Ajay Devgan’s raid 2 in Hindi markets. It will be interesting to see how the film rents out of its home turf, especially in Telugu and Hindi circuits.
