After launching Redmi A4 in November 2024, the company brings its successor – Redmi A5 – to India. Launched for Rs 6,499, the A5 has Unisoc T7250 chipset, 120Hz refresh rate and 32-megapixel primary camera. He said, it is one of the rare sites where the successor is slightly weak (on paper) compared to its predecessor. For reference, Redmi A4 is powered by a Snapdragon 4S General 2 chip. The Redmi A5 is the company’s entry-level smartphone, which starts at Rs 6,499.

It will go on sale from tomorrow, from April 16, Flipkart, Mi.com, authorized Xiaomi retail partners and offline stores across the country.
Redmi A5: Key Glasses
The Redmi A5 has a 6.88-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Unisoc T7250 processor, it has been paired with a gardener-G57 MP1 GPU. 3GB or 4GB LPDDR4X is available in RAM variants with internal storage up to 128GB, the device also supports microSD expansion up to 2TB, ensuring sufficient space for media and files.
Running the latest Android 15, it offers a modern software experience with better features and safety.
Photography is controlled by a 32-megapixel rear camera with F/2.0 aperture, which contains a secondary sensor and LED flash, while an 8-megapixel front camera requires selfie. Connectivity is widespread with global navigation support via dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and GPS, Glonas, Galileo and BDS.
Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5 mm headphone jack and FM radio support for convenient security. The phone has a 5,200mAh battery with 15W charging via USB Type-C, providing reliable longevity for daily use. To measure 193 grams weighing and 8.26 mm thick, it balances between strong construction and comfort.
