RC17 not delayed, script remains in place
After Ram Charan’s Peddi hits the theaters later this month, the actor will start actively working on his next project, tentatively titled RC17. The team has recently announced Sukumar as its director. However, there is some confusion regarding the script which led to rumors of the film being delayed.
Hence, the film’s co-writer and Sukumar’s associate director, Hussain Sha Kiran, decided to put an end to all the rumours. According to 123 Telugu, Kiran has confirmed that “the story of RC17 has already been locked.” Hussain immediately said that in his last statement he had mistakenly said that he had written two stories instead of two versions of the same story. This created confusion.
For those unaware, Hussain had earlier said in a press meet, “I am writing a story for the film. However, another story is also being prepared by the team. We still don’t know what we will eventually move on to.”
Currently, the team is putting their heart and soul into developing an impactful story. Only after being satisfied with this will they proceed towards the production of the film. RC17 is also grabbing everyone’s attention because it is the comeback of Ram Charan and Sukumar after the blockbuster entertainer Rangasthalam.
While it is being developed, Ram is busy with the promotions and post-production of his film Peddi. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the sports drama is expected to release in theaters on April 30, 2026. Set in a rural setting, the film stars Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role along with Shiv Rajkumar, Divyendu, Jagapathi Babu and others.
In an interview with M9 News, Peddie and the creator of the RC17 revealed that pre-production work on the RC17 is currently underway.
