Dhurandhar: The Revenge has done well. As of this morning, its opening weekend had collected around Rs 187 crore in advance worldwide. Breaking down the advance amount, the film has grossed over Rs. 100 crore in India, while overseas, it grossed around US$9 million over the weekend. Another Rs. Rs 5 crore has been collected from weekdays in some overseas markets, taking the total advance to Rs. Approximately 192 crores. By the time you are reading this, with the progress of India and East overseas market, the film has grossed Rs. crores. The figure of 200 crores.
The final global advance for the Ranveer Singh starrer was Rs. 250 crores or more, which will be an all-time record for Indian cinema. Pushpa 2: The Rule is probably the only film which made Rs. An advance amount of more than Rs. 200 crores, RRR is also probably around the same level. These films enjoy huge first day potential in Telugu states, hence Rs. An advance amount of Rs 200 crore is not like a Bollywood film. The previous record for Bollywood was Rs. Jawan took Rs 122 crore.
The progress of Indian cinema in almost every major market is a record. There may be some small areas (small for Hindi films) in which some films may be high, but they don’t matter, and that’s just everything for Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
The United States has a deficit of US$5 million, which it will overcome by the time previews begin. Canada is unprecedented, closing at CAD 2 million. Similarly, Australia is slightly behind at AUD 1.50 million. These numbers could have been even higher, but progress in these markets slowed as there were no more tickets to sell at most major venues. The film is already facing capacity constraints and there is an urgent need to allocate more shows.
The film is not releasing in the Middle East, which would have been huge, especially with the Eid release period. Releasing there would mean that the film has already earned more than Rs 1 crore. There is an eye on the figure of Rs 200 crore and perhaps Rs. 275 crore final.
