Ranveer Allahabadia: John Abraham and Sonu Nigam called after secret dispute
Ranveer Allahbadia claimed that John Abraham and many other celebrities had supported him during the India’s Got Latent controversy. He spoke openly to Farah Khan about how bad times affected his career.

Director-choreographer Farah Khan, in a recent conversation with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, asked him about his bad phase during the India’s Got Latent controversy. Ranveer claimed that actor John Abraham and some other celebrities supported him at that time.
Farah visited Ranveer’s luxury apartment with her cook Dilip for her YouTube vlog. When he asked the YouTuber about the latent line, he kept referring to it as ‘Scandal‘ (scam). Ranveer said, “After that my podcast got stopped, I had to endure a lot. I pray to God to just give me my work back. I just wanted a chance to work because we were not even able to shoot.” Farah told Ranveer, “Never waste a good failure, always make use of it. Keep your head down and work.”

Ranveer said, “John Abraham sir called me and said the same thing. He had called specifically. He asked me to control myself and said that this is a normal thing in the media. During that time, Sonu Nigam, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul and Yuzvendra Chahal had also called me.”
The YouTuber further added, “I can’t change the past, but I can change the future. After a tough six-year podcasting journey I took a forced break. I’m just trying to move on; I’ve tried to forgive a lot of people, even myself and to some extent I’ve been successful.”
Earlier, in an interview Praful Garg Taking to his YouTube channel, Ranveer had revealed that celebrities who had claimed that he had refused to appear on his show following the latent controversy were not even invited. He said, “It was a feeding frenzy. Some celebrities claimed that they had even rejected invitations to the show. The truth is that we had never invited them before. In such situations, I would normally get angry at human beings. But I realized that the difficult situation I was in was a result of my own actions.”
The YouTuber landed in legal trouble after he made comments about parenting and sex on comedian Samay Raina’s show. Along with Samay Raina, Jaspreet Singh and Apoorva Mukhija, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani was also among the panelists present on the show.
In March 2025, the Supreme Court rejected the prosecution’s plea to quash the YouTuber’s podcast and said he is free to run his show “subject to morality and decency”.
