Ramayan’s 20-minute clip stuns audiences at CinemaCon, producer says Oscar hopes have risen
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan is making waves internationally with the exclusive footage receiving excellent reviews at CinemaCon. According to a producer, the film is set for global release and a possible Oscar nomination.

A recap of one of India’s most iconic epics, Nitish Tiwari’s upcoming film Ramayana Is garnering global attention even before its release. The latest buzz has now emerged from CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where the reportedly unseen footage has received a strong reaction from select audiences.
According to a YouTube creator of the channel sir like it or notApproximately 20 minutes of exclusive footage from the film was shown to a small group of attendees. The creators, who were among a select few, described the visuals as grand and intense, suggesting a blend of mythological storytelling and large-scale fantasy. He said, “This film can be both a true grand epic and a fantastic fantasy story.”
Although these claims are unverified, the producer also hinted that the film could have a strong showing at international awards, including the Academy Awards. He further claimed that Warner Bros. may handle the global distribution of the film, although there has been no official confirmation from the producers.
He added, “They recently opened a big distribution deal here in the US which will give them a big, global push. Warner Bros. Studios will distribute the film globally.”
Additionally, the producer described the 20 minutes of footage as visually gorgeous and said the film could aim for a strong Oscar race, especially in the International Feature Film category. He added, “I’m pretty sure they’ll push for some Academy Awards in different categories, especially a nomination for International Feature Film. It’s going to fit into that particular genre.”
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana It has been set up at an estimated budget of around Rs 4,000 crore. Ranbir Kapoor plays the role of Lord Ram in the film, along with Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Laxman.
Planned as a two-part saga, the film is scheduled to release during Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027.
